GENERAL FAQ’S

  • What age do children pay from?
  • Children 3 & under go free at our events unless competing.

 

  • My child has lost their ticket / band?
  • Anybody trying to gain entry to the ballroom without a ticket / band, will be refused entry.

 

  • My wristband became too tight while sleeping, can I remove it myself to improve circulation?
  • Yes you may remove a wristband but you must seek an immediate replacement on arrival back at the venue.  Replacement wristbands can be purchased for £2.00, the removed wristabnd must be handed back to Dancelines as an exchange.  Anybody trying to gain access with a tampered wristband i.e saftey pinned, taped etc, will have the wristband confiscated and refused entry.

 

 

 

  • My Child has Qualified for Disco Kid (DK), do they have to dance in DK or can they dance in the supporting section at the Grand Finals in Blackpool?
  • If your child has qualified in DK, then your child must dance in DK.  The supporting solo section is for dancers who did not qualify for DK.  If your child dances in the supporting solo section instead of the DK, then your child will be automatically disqualified from the supporting solo event.

 

  • My Child has Qualified for Slowdance Superstar (SS), do they have to dance in SS or can they dance in the supporting section at the Grand Finals in Blackpool?
  • If your child has qualified in SS, then your child must dance in SS.  The supporting solo section is for dancers who did not qualify for SS.  If your child dances in the supporting solo section instead of the SS, then your child will be automatically disqualified from the supporting solo event.

 

  • When are the area heats?
  • The area heats can be found on the DKKQ events page.

 

DKKQ QUALIFYING AREA HEATS

 

  • Where can I buy tickets for the upcoming qualifying heats?
  • Tickets can only be purchased via the heat organiser.  Your teacher will have contact details via the ADFP.

 

  • What is the dress code for the qualifying heats?
  • FREESTYLE BEGINNER DRESS RULE: PLEASE stick to the FREESTYLE BEGINNER DRESS RULE for both qualifying sections… this does apply to hair ribbons as well… Keep it plain and simple… for those that are still in doubt… Here’s the rule:  Beginners. No glitter is allowed on the dancer’s face, body or hair. Beginners may only wear items of a plain colour, close fitting, basic design “Dance Wear” either one or two piece. Each item must be one single colour without added decoration of any type (i.e. no cut outs, latticework, belts, anklets, slits/slashes or leg warmers) Commercial sports wear is not allowed. Matching hair ties/scrunchies that meet the criteria are allowed.  This dress code only applies to the Disco Kid King Queen and Slowdance Superstar heats. Costumes MAY be worn at SOME of the supporting events, if you wish (but you need to check with each heat organiser about their particular programme on the day)

 

  • If my child has an age change before the DKKQ  finals do they qualify in current age group or the age group which they would be in at the finals?
  • Dancers would qualify in their current age group.  If successful in qualifying for the grand finals at a qualifying heat, you will then receive a qualifying form.  On this form their is a section where you can let us know of an age change at the DKKQ finals.

 

  • Is the seating reserved at Eurodance?
  • Yes seating for all schools is reserved at this event.

 

  • Can you buy a day pass for Eurodance?
  • Weekend passes only, which include on-site accommodation.

 

  • What is the International Team Match?
  • The International Team Match is a competition between nations.  All schools are involved in the team match and a team captain is selected by Dancelines to represent each country.  The team captain then chooses dancers to represent there nation.

 

  • What is the dress code for the WHITE NIGHT at Eurodance?
  • There is only one rule – Everyone in White…. Plain White, Sparkly White, your choice, anything goes!  Having said that, please don’t put yourself to any unnecessary expense, the judges brief is to mark on dancing, not expensive freestyle costumes!

 

 

  • Which airport do we fly into?
  • You Fly into Malaga airport for the Spanish Fiesta Events.

 

  • Can I book extra night’s through the hotel?
  • All room booking’s and extra night’s stay must be booked through Dancelines to gain entry to the event.

 

  • When do the kid’s dance and will we have anytime to enjoy the sun?
  • The children dance late afternoon into the evening when the air temperature is cooler.  The morning and early afternoon is there to enjoy the Sun & swimming pool / amenities.

 

 

  • Where is the V.I.P event held?
  • The world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

 

  • Can we purchase accommodation from Dancelines?
  • V.I.P is a ticket only event.  All accommodation must be booked by the customer individually.

 

 

  • Can we purchase accommodation from Dancelines?
  • The International Championships is a ticket only event.  All accommodation must be booked by the customer individually.

 

  • Do infants need to wear protective hearing in the barrowlands venue?
  • Yes, infants below 1 years of age must wear protective hearing inside the venue at all times.side the venue.  This rule is down to the venue owners not Dancelines and must be adhered too.
